M42 CKL66 SD HEER CHICKEN WIRE CAMO PERFECT FOR RE-ENACTING (Restored)

This is a wonderful vintage M42 helmet that was actually used for re-enacting before I added the silver Heer eagle and chicken wire camo cage. The seller used to re-enact back in the 1970’s and sent me over a very aged darkened reproduction liner system.  I actually believe based on the natural aging and flat feld grau textured paint that the outside paint might actually be original.  Back in the day you could pick up an original M42 no decal painted shell for around $25 and so it seems more likely to me that this is actually original paint that we used for re-enacting rather than someone perfectly painted it back in the 1970’s.  The wire wrapped around the helmet is actually old farmer’s wire and the chicken gauge is galvanized metal that has been left outside for many years to achieve this nice patina.  The inside liner is brand new and so meant for someone’s fresh head for possibly re-enacting.   The eagle is ET which matches the shell markings CKL which evolved from ET.

$375
