DESCRIPTION
This helmet represents one of my tribute helmets with matching SS rear lot number and is a bone stock factory issued mid-war example with textured feldgrau (field gray) paint on the outside and a smooth enamel finish on the inside. The shell is an original WW2 produced M42 helmet which is in mint condition with not rust pitting, cracks or dents. A rock solid shell indeed!
The EF64 stamping indicates that this particular helmet was manufactured by the Emaillierwerke AG, Fulda, Germany with rear lot number is 2451 placing the production date to early 1942. This particular lot number is rather rare and makes out only about 1% of M42 EF helmets that were originally issued to the Waffen-SS as per Brian Ice's lot data reference book.
The decal is historically accurate and completely textbook EF which has a unique design apart from the other helmet factories with rakish slender like SS runes and the left bottom tip of the left rune almost touching the outside black border edge.
Please add $25 for the addition of a period accurate chinstrap.

GERMAN HELMET FACTORY PRODUCTION CODES
(Every original German helmet produced from 1935 to 45 had two factory stampings punched into the side and rear or both in the rear. The alpha numeric number refers to the factory location and the inside metric circumference in centimeters. The rear lot number refers to the production run and was used as a quality control measure. The font styles used at each factory were slightly different but highly consistent throughout the war and so fakes or reproductions will either not have these numbers at all or they will use the wrong font style or letter spacing and so are easily identified as post war made.)

(ET or ckl)-Eisenhuttenwerke, Thale, Germany
(Q)-Quist, Esslingen, Germany
