This helmet is fresh out of the wood work from a private seller out in California who sold it on behalf of her 89 year old neighbor who is moving into a senior residency. She told me that the gentleman did not actually fight in the war but had two old sisters who were nurses and an uncle and that one of them brought it back home right after the war.
A great salt of the earth every man’s fighting helmet mid war M40 single decal Heer helmet. The decal is textbook Huber Jordan & Keorner eagle with a lightly textured factory finish and buttery smooth original liner and 1937 dated chinstrap. The size is EF66 and so it’s a nice size large that fits most men’s heads of today. Helmet is complete and unmolested since the war. A very nice find straight out of the woodwork never in a collection or on the military show circuit.
