NO DECAL M35 Q64 REISSUED COMBAT HELMET

DESCRIPTION
Well here's a helmet that is just about as honest and original as they come; an original re-issued M35 Double Decal Quist that was given a liner upgrade and depot repaint to fall in line with 1940 Wehrmacht High Command policy changes concerning national shield decal removal. German soldiers who found themselves far behind enemy lines, many officers and those in purely administrative roles often ignored these orders which is why we can still find some untouched M35 double decal helmets around today. The vast majority of M35 double decal helmets however were re-issued just like this one given a new layer of matte feldgrau textured paint and in many cases a new liner and chinstrap.

One can still see beneath the textured paint the original Heer and tri-color national shields peaking through. In this particular example the pre-war aluminum buckled chinstrap will still in good enough condition that it didn't need to be changed out and so was left in tact as an economizing measure.

This M35 Q64 helmet has a rear lot of 1884 making it's original factory production date as June 1939 according to Brian Ice's lot data book. The original chinstrap is fully in tact without shortening and stamped with what I believe are the words "Lagesa Dresden 1939."

As right as rain, fully complete and as good as they come in this configuration!

GERMAN HELMET FACTORY PRODUCTION CODES
(Every original German helmet produced from 1935 to 45 had two factory stampings punched into the side and rear or both in the rear.  The alpha numeric number refers to the factory location and the inside metric circumference in centimeters.  The rear lot number refers to the production run and was used as a quality control measure. The font styles used at each factory were slightly different but highly consistent throughout the war and so fakes or reproductions will either not have these numbers at all or they will use the wrong font style or letter spacing and so are easily identified as post war made.)
