CANADIAN MK1 WW2 1941 CAMO HELMET

BACKGROUND: The standard Canadian Infantry helmet, as used throughout World War II, being a modification of the Mk. I helmet introduced in April of 1916 and used during the First World War. Production of the MK II and T helmet began in 1938 and the first units were delivered to the armed forces in 1939. The helmet retained its predecessor’s shape but improved the steel, liner and chin strap.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Constructed entirely of non-magnetic steel, the basin-shaped helmet, with an all-around visor that is maker marked "G.S.W." (General Steel Wares). Complete liner. Nice complete chinstrap. Liner is marked size of 7 1/2. The helmet displays it's original factory green brown smooth enamel paint with some in the field sage green striping camo pattern that was hand applied for better concealment.

All in all a very nicely preserved helmet that literally 80+ years old and without an dents, cracks or rust pitting whatsoever. A real survivor of a specimen!
