BEAUTIFUL MID WAR M40 NS64 SD HEER FANTASTIC DECAL (H-05)

Here is your classic mid war example of a combat used German helmet complete with it's original chinstrap and liner system. All 3 split pins are original and 100% untouched as is the rest of this fine example. Helmet was purchased from a private seller related to a vet based here in the US and has never been at a military show or part of a dealer's collection.  We can safely assume in this case that the German solider who wore this helmet served somewhere on the Western Front from mid 1941 till the end of the war.   The helmet is a size NS64 and rear lot number D164 placing the factory production date in late 1941.  The eagle is probably the best thing about this helmet in my view as it is nearly 100% and near flawless and textbook C.A. Pocher style eagle.  The original chinstrap is full length, never been removed and original to the helmet factory marked but a little too faint for me to make out.

Nothing more classic than a mid war SD Heer M40 helmet in complete and untouched condition!!!!

GERMAN HELMET FACTORY PRODUCTION CODES
(Every original German helmet produced from 1935 to 45 had two factory stampings punched into the side and rear or both in the rear.  The alpha numeric number refers to the factory location and the inside metric circumference in centimeters.  The rear lot number refers to the production run and was used as a quality control measure. The font styles used at each factory were slightly different but highly consistent throughout the war and so fakes or reproductions will either not have these numbers at all or they will use the wrong font style or letter spacing and so are easily identified as post war made.)
