M35 ET62 TROPICAL CAMO HELMET

DESCRIPTION
This is another one of those one looker camo helmets that appears dressed to impress with it's original ET eagle fully exposed and neatly hand painted around. A nice early war M35 helmet with a rear lot number of 3084 places the production date of this helmet to 1937 just as the Wehrmacht was ramping up it's inferior sized military. The inside liner and liner band is dated to that same year 1937 and is the early war non-re-enforced aluminum square bale band. The leather has taken on a nice marbled coffee appearance and even the original drawstring is still present. Chinstrap is 100% original to the helmet, full length - never shortened and stamped "Kritzler K.G. Rebbelroth 1937". The inside of the shell is it's original smooth dark pea green color but the outside as some point was painted over in darker textured feld grau with the textbook ET eagle neatly painted around by the original soldier who wore it. That same soldier then went on to give himself a very interesting splotchy cloud pattern camouflaged paint job. The camo paint is tan but with hints of pink so this helmet might have seen battle on the Italian front or in a more tropical setting possibly even North Africa.

A beautiful one looker camo and not that easy to find especially in 100% untouched and complete condition.

GERMAN HELMET FACTORY PRODUCTION CODES
(Every original German helmet produced from 1935 to 45 had two factory stampings punched into the side and rear or both in the rear.  The alpha numeric number refers to the factory location and the inside metric circumference in centimeters.  The rear lot number refers to the production run and was used as a quality control measure. The font styles used at each factory were slightly different but highly consistent throughout the war and so fakes or reproductions will either not have these numbers at all or they will use the wrong font style or letter spacing and so are easily identified as post war made.)
