M35 ET62 WAFFEN SS DD IN ORIGINAL SHELL (Restored)

DESCRIPTION
This is your classic holy grail Waffen-SS double decal helmet created with a an original WW2 German M35 shell and original liner system. The helmet leather is most likely a post war replacement however all 3 splits pins are pre-war brass and original to the helmet as well as the non re-enforced outer aluminum square bale liner and springs are also 100% authentic. It's difficult to make out but I believe the liner band is dated 1936. The outside paint is your typical factory dark apple green with a smooth enamel finish and two historically accurate the decals. The SS decal is white metallic and a C.A. Pocher design with a matching ET tomato red party shield both aged nicely to give the helmet an overall more authentic patina.

The leather kind of baffles me because all 13 aluminum retaining pins are heavily oxidized and there is a sweat ring and bow shape to the leather. Plus a size 62 is too small for re-enactors and so this may very well be an original leather were looking at here. It's difficult to make out but I believe the liner band is dated 1936.

GERMAN HELMET FACTORY PRODUCTION CODES
(Every original German helmet produced from 1935 to 45 had two factory stampings punched into the side and rear or both in the rear.  The alpha numeric number refers to the factory location and the inside metric circumference in centimeters.  The rear lot number refers to the production run and was used as a quality control measure. The font styles used at each factory were slightly different but highly consistent throughout the war and so fakes or reproductions will either not have these numbers at all or they will use the wrong font style or letter spacing and so are easily identified as post war made.)
