This is a highly sought after German fallschirmjager/paratrooper helmet with a wonderfully preserved liner and chinstrap. I call these survivor helmets because all too often the liner has been cut away and or completely missing and so it’s great to have one fully in tact and untouched since the war. This is a later war large size CKL68 rear lot number 4054 which never had a Luftwaffe decal applied to it. The front rim is raised and protrudes in an almost menacing fashion indicative of all known M38’s sharing this same lot number. Wonderful dark blue gray outside paint with a beautiful slightly battle worn patina. Chinstrap system is the later war version and is rarely present on most M38’s I’ve handled in the past. All in all a great piece of WW2 history as very few original paratrooper remain till this day since very few were originally produced for the war effort.
