-Fresh From My Recent Trip To Berlin-
A VERY HIGH QUALITY AND UBER RARE LAH SS OFFICER’S SILVER RING IN BLACK ENAMEL PASTE WITH RUNES SET IN WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE MOTHER OF PEARL INLAY CRAFTED IN THE 1930’s ART DECO STYLE AND REMINISCENT OF THE CHRYSLER BUILDING
Currently this is remaining as part of my private collection as I doubt I’ll ever see another one again. I’ve already had two SS ring experts take a look and both gave positive feedback concerning their opinion as to it’s originality. The experts were Craig Gottleib the arms expert from Pawn Stars who has published books on SS honor rings and Paul from Germania Inc. who is the world’s authority on elite rings. The ring is solid silver and marked 830 which believes refers to 83% silver content. Bought this in East Berlin direct from a collector and antique shop owner who buys estates from German vet’s families and was told by him that the man who brought it in was 94 and served at the SS Leibstandarte training school at Berlin-Lichterfelde school photographed at bottom which was actually very close to his shop. He told me that he knew the old man was elite because “his eyes were blue like the sky” and pointed up to the ceiling. The ring is around a size 10 and very large suggesting the SS Officer who owned it was a rather large or tall man. A fantastic find and slightly creepy part of our shared world history. The SS runes appear to be mother of pearl or just tarnished silver it’s a bit tough for me to make out so either is possible. I would value this ring because it’s an officer’s version to be around $1500 as I’ve never even seen one made to this degree of quality. I consider this to be a one of example most likely never to be seen again and so I’m quite happy just keeping it here as part of my own private SS collection.
